Incoming Women's Rowing Recruits Already Shining

ORLANDO - Two members of the UCF 2005 women's rowing recruiting class - Samantha Heinrich and Tara Rogers - are making a name for themselves on the national and international level.

A native of Rochester, N.Y., Heinrich placed 12th of 173 athletes at the 2005 CRASH-B Sprints World Indoor Rowing Championships in Boston, Mass. She had a time of 7:27.50 in the 2000m in the women's junior division.

Meanwhile, Rogers, who attends Lake Brantley High School, is currently ranked third on the USRowing Junior National Team roster. She pulled a 7:22.03 in the 2000m erg testing this month.

Rogers and Heinrich both inked national letters of intent (NLI) with the Golden Knights during the early signing period in November.
