ORLANDO, Fla. - The UCF women's basketball team will play in their last regular season home game on Saturday at 2 p.m. when they host Campbell in the UCF Arena. The Golden Knights enter the game with a 16-7 mark on the season and 14-2 in the A-Sun, while the Camels are 7-15 on the season and 5-10 in the conference.
Junior Celeste Hudson tops UCF in points with 11.9 per game, while senior Ali Roberts is also in double digits with 11.3 points per game. Junior Shelby Weber paces the Golden Knights in rebounds with 6.6 boards per outing. Sophomore Lashaunda Slade leads the Black and Gold in assists with 4.22 per game, while Weber also tops the team in blocks with 2.35 per game.
UCF currently tops the Atlantic Sun with a 14-2 (.875) mark in conference play. In the A-Sun statistics, the Golden Knights rank first in scoring defense (56.1 per game), blocked shots (6.09 per game), field goal percentage defense (35.4%), rebounding margin (+5.2) and scoring margin (+4.9), while they are second in field goal percentage (40.6%) and defensive rebounds (27.91 per game). The Black and Gold also rank third in three-point field goal percent defense (30.0%) and assists (13.65 per game).
Individually, Hudson ranks 15th in scoring, while Roberts is 17th and Francine Houston is 25th with 9.5 points per game. Slade is fourth in assists among A-Sun players and Hudson is ninth with 3.05 per game. Roberts is also sixth in the conference in field goal percentage with 49.0%, while Takira Allen is 10th with 46.4%. Hudson ranks third among A-Sun players in steals with 2.41 per game. Ranked second and fourth in the blocked shots department are Weber and Roberts (2.26 per game), while Allen is 12th (0.73 per game). Hudson (1.91 per game) and Houston (1.65 per game) are rank ninth and 11th in three-point field goals made, respectively.
Nationally, UCF is ranked in the top-20 for field goal percentage defense (18th) and blocked shots per game (13th).
Last time out, the Golden Knights defeated Gardner-Webb, 64-57. Allen led the Knights with her seventh career double-double after netting 20 points and grabbing 10 boards. Roberts was second on the team in points with 14, while Hudson had 12. Slade led the team in assists with five, while Roberts led in blocks (7) and Hudson led in steals (5).
Kristin Vuckovich tops Campbell with 8.4 points per game, while Tomika Tomlinson has 6.8. Amber Graham paces the Lady Camels with 6.3 boards per game, while Letitia Dickson has 2.73 assists per game. Graham also leads the team in steals 1.24 per outing.
Campbell is currently tied for ninth in the A-Sun standings with a .333 winning percentage. In the A-Sun statistics, the Lady Camels rank first in free throw percentage (70.9%), while placing fourth scoring defense (62.7) and three-point field goal percent defense (31.4%). Campbell is also fifth in rebounding margin (+1.7) and sixth in defensive rebounds (25.05 per game) and field goal percentage defense (39.7%).
Individually, Jennifer Martin is fifth among A-Sun players in free throw percentage (75.8%), while Dickson is 14th in assists. Graham places 11th in rebounding, while Martin is 18th with 5.6 boards per game. Graham and Martin are 10th and 11th in defensive rebounds, while Graham is third in three-point field goal percentage (40.0%) and Martin is eighth in blocked shots (1.0 per game).
Last time out, Florida Atlantic defeated Campbell, 66-51. Tomlinson led the Lady Camels with 10 points followed by Dasha Green who had eight. Graham paced Campbell with seven rebounds, while Damman had three assists. Graham, Martin and Tomlinson each had one block, while Graham also had four steals.
This will be the 22nd and final time that UCF and Campbell meet on the basketball court as Atlantic Sun rivals with the Golden Knights leading the series 12-9. UCF and Campbell last played on January 13, 2005 at Carter Gymnasium in Buies Creek, N.C. with the Golden Knights defeating the Lady Camels, 67-57.
