Columbus Crew Defeats Men's Soccer in Exhibition Match

BRADENTON - Major League Soccer's Columbus Crew handed the UCF men's soccer team a 3-1 loss in an exhibition match at the IMG Soccer Academy on Monday evening.

The Crew got on the board first in the 25th minute when Ante Razov scored off a pass from former Knight standout Eric Vasquez.

Columbus went up 2-0 on a successful direct kick by Kyle Martino in the 60th minute before the Golden Knights got on the board. Junior Billy Judino started the play pushing the ball forward from right back. He then connected on a pass from sophomore Rafael Teixeira in the 65th minute.

The Crew capped off the scoring with an unassisted tally by Dant Washington with 10 minutes remaining on the clock.

Junior goalkeeper Ryan McIntosh made seven saves on the night for UCF, while the Columbus keeper had four.

The Golden Knights continue their spring training campaign with an exhibition match against the Chicago Fire on Thurs. at the IMG Academy in Bradenton. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
