ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Marcus Avant scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds as UCF held Jacksonville to just one field goal in the final 7:30 to win 75-57 on Sunday afternoon.
The Golden Knights (9-4, 2-3 Atlantic Sun Conference) have won four straight over the Dolphins (5-7, 1-4).
Will Bakanowsky's basket gave UCF a 50-39 lead with 12:00 left, but the team didn't have a field goal for the next 4:38. Jacksonville tied the game at 52-52 on a runner in the lane by David Lee with 7:52 remaining.
But UCF recovered and went on a 19-3 run in the next seven minutes to put the game away. The Knights outrebounded the Dolphins, 39-22.
Justin Rose and Joshua Peppers scored 11 points each and Will Bakanowsky and Gary Johnson added 10 points each for the Knights.
Haminn Quaintance and David Lee led Jacksonville with 11 points each.
UCF used a 16-2 run, highlighted by four consecutive three-pointers, to take a 31-16 lead with 6:54 remaining in the first half.
The Knights were then held without a point for the next 4:46 as Jacksonville climbed to within 31-26. UCF led 33-26 at halftime.
