RENO, Nev. - Led by sophomore Katie Fowke, the UCF pole vaulters earned good marks at the National Pole Vault Summit on Jan. 22.
The UCF recordholder and 2004 conference champion, Fowke went 10-feet, 10-inches to finish 17th in her grouping at the event. The mark surpassed the 10-6 she posted during her season debut at the Florida Intercollegiate a week before.
Freshman Kelsey Bealert recorded a mark of 9-8 - just short of matching her previous mark of 9-10 at Gaineville, while rookie Ginny Cobb vault to 8-8 in her collegiate debut.
An all-conference honoree in 2004, sophomore Tracy Fischler earned a mark of 8-6.5 in her first meet of the season.
The entire Golden Knight squad returns to action at the Carolina Classic in Chapel Hill, N.C. on Feb. 5.
