TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - No. 37 Alabama defeated No. 68 UCF, 6-1, in men's tennis action at the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility on Friday night.
The Crimson Tide clinched the doubles point when the tandem of Luigi D'Agord and Sammy Struyf defeated Joel Allen and Simon Jaeger, 8-6, at the No. 1 position. The duo of R.J. Murray and Joseph Jung also earned a tough victory over Knights' Antonio Sierra and Sinan Sudas,8-6, at No. 3 to close out double play.
Alabama kept its streak going by winning the first singles point as Javier Bes took a 6-4, 6-4 win over Jaeger at the No. 4 position and clinched the match when No. 92 Jung defeated Ener Gursoy, 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 at No. 3.
After losing the first set 6-2, Allen rebounded to take the last two sets 7-6, 6-4 and defeated Eric Molnar at No. 2 singles to earn UCF's only point of the night.
The Golden Knights continue their Alabama road trip with a match at UAB on Saturday at 1 p.m.
