DELAND, Fla. - Celeste Hudson led UCF with 21 points as the Golden Knights defeated Stetson, 65-45. The Black and Gold improved to 10-6 on the season and 8-1 in the Atlantic Sun, while the Hatters fell to 7-8 on the season and 4-4 in the A-Sun.

Hudson was 6-for-13 from the field, while hitting 3-of-7 from the three-point range and was a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line. Hudson also had team-high five assists and seven rebounds. Takira Allen was second on the team in points with 10 while grabbing six boards. Francine Houston led UCF in rebounds with 12, while netting eight points.

UCF and Stetson went into halftime with the score tied at 22 apiece. The Hatters came out of the gates ready to go with Nefertiti Walker hitting a three in the first 25 seconds of the game. Stetson went up 5-0 before the Knights even scored their first basket of the evening. Roberts hit a jumper to put UCF on the board 2:40 into the half. Stetson then went up 7-2 on a Kim Manning jumper.

Houston hit a trey three minutes later to pull the Knights to within two. Stetson then outscored the Knights 8-4 to take a six-point lead, their largest of the first half. UCF fought back to take the lead with 5:28 to go in the half. The Black and Gold were up by as many as five before going into the break tied.

In the first half, Allen led UCF with six points while grabbing two boards. Houston and Hudson each had five points. Houston led the Knights in rebounds with six, while Hudson led the squad in assists with three.

The second half of action started out similar to the first with Kristy Brown hitting a jumper for Stetson followed by two free throws by Janene Maclin before UCF scored. Shelby Weber hit a jumper 1:34 seconds in. The Golden Knights tied the score up with 16:52 to go on a three-pointer by Lashaunda Slade.

The lead went back-and-forth for the next two minutes before the Black and Gold took the lead and never looked back with 14:57 left to play. UCF outscored Stetson 33-12 to end the game with Hudson netting 14 of the 33 points for the Golden Knights.

Brown led the Hatters with 13 points and 10 rebounds with Walker second on the team in points with nine. Brown also had five assists and three steals for Stetson.

UCF returns to action on Saturday, January 29 when they travel to Jacksonville, Fla. to take on Jacksonville University at 5:00 p.m. The Golden Knights return home on Saturday, February 5 when they host Stetson at 2:00 p.m. If you bring a canned food item to the game, you will be admitted for free. All donations will be used to help in the relief of the Tsunami victims. Tickets are still available for the February 5th game. Adults are $5. Youth age 17 and under and seniors age 55 and older are $3. Children under five and UCF students with a valid UCF student I.D. are admitted free.
