Men's Basketball Travels to Georgia State

ORLANDO - UCF travels to Georgia State and Mercer marking the first A-Sun road trip of the season. Georgia State is currently 3-7 while Mercer is 6-2 and a league-leading 2-0 in the A-Sun. UCF and Georgia State tip-off on Monday January 3 at 6:00 p.m. while Mercer and UCF will play on January 5 at 7:00 p.m.

Anthony Williams has caught fire over the last seven games. The 6-8 junior from Omaha, Neb., is shooting .795 from the floor going 31-of-39. Williams has shot over .600 from the floor in each of those games. Over that same stretch, he is averaging 12.2 points and has added 10 blocks.

The Panthers come into the match-up with a 3-7 record overall and 0-2 in the A-Sun. GSU fell to Jacksonville and Stetson in a trip through Florida to kick off conference play. GSU has now lost three straight games, all away from the GSU Sports Arena. The Panthers will be hosting only their third home game of the season on Monday night. Marcus Brown leads the team, averaging 16.2 points per game while Kevin Thomas is averaging 11.2 points per contest. The duo along, with Sylvester Morgan, are the only three players to start all 10 games. Morgan has a team leading 21 blocks while chipping in 5.0 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.

Four Bears are averaging double figures in scoring with Will Emerson and Jacob Skogen leading the way at 17.3 points per game each. James Odoms is averaging 14.3 points per game while Wesley Duke is chipping in 11.6 points and a team-best 7.9 rebounds per contest. Mercer will host Florida Atlantic before facing UCF on Wednesday night.
