Women's Basketball to Play Campbell and Gardner-Webb

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - The UCF women's basketball team will travel to North Carolina to take on Campbell Thursday, January 13 at 7:00 p.m. and Gardner-Webb Saturday, January 15 at 7:00 p.m. The Golden Knights enter the weekend series 5-6 on the season and 3-1 in the Atlantic Sun while Campbell is 4-7 on the season and 3-2 in the A-Sun and Gardner-Webb is 5-6 on the season and 3-2 in the conference.

UCF is led by senior Ali Roberts who is averaging 10.4 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. Junior Shelby Weber leads the team in rebounds with 6.9 boards per game while sophomore Lashaunda Slade leads in assists with 45.

Tomika Tomlinson and Kristin Vuckovich who are each averaging 8.8 points per game lead Campbell. Amber Graham leads the Camels in rebounds with 6.5 boards per game.

Sequenta Blackman leads Gardner-Webb with 11.3 points per game while bringing down 3.6 boards per contest. Shameka Smith leads the Bulldogs in rebounds with 9.2 boards per game and second on the team in points per game with 10.3.

The Black and Gold are currently ranked second in the A-Sun standings behind Lipscomb. In the A-Sun stats, UCF ranks first in scoring defense (57.5 per game), blocked shots (5.82 per game) and defensive rebounds (28.0 per game) and second in scoring margin (-0.2), rebounding offense (42.5 per game), field goal percent defense (.356), three-point field goal percent defense (.286), rebounding defense (38.3 per game) and rebounding margin (+4.3).

Last time out, Weber led UCF in points with 14 while Roberts and junior Celeste Hudson each had eight boards a piece as the Knights defeated Troy 55-43. Junior LaShay King made her season debut after rehabbing in the first half of the season.

The Knights will return home on Thursday, January 20th when they host the Mercer Bears at 5:00 p.m. in game one of a double header with the men's basketball team who will take on Florida Atlantic 7:30 p.m. Tickets are still available for both games.
