Women's Basketball Looks for Revenge Against Lipscomb

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Golden Knights will be looking to avenge their loss at the Atlantic Sun Tournament last year against Lipscomb. UCF will enter the game on Saturday with a 2-3 mark overall and a 1-0 record in the conference while Lipscomb will come in with a 3-2 record and 1-0 mark in the conference.

Sophomore Francine Houston leads the Golden Knights averaging 11.4 points per game. Houston is shooting .514 (19-37) from the field, .500 (9-18) from behind the arc and .769 (10-13) from the charity line. Her 57 points have come in just 90 minutes of action.

Junior Shelby Weber leads the team in rebounds with 5.4 per game. Weber has grabbed 11 offensive rebounds and 16 defensive rebounds for a total of 27 while playing in 116 minutes.

As a team, the Golden Knights are shooting .401 (105-262) from the field, .295 (23-78) from the three-point line and .622 (45-74) from the charity line.

Leading the way for the Lady Bisons is Courtney Boynton with 15.8 points per game. Boynton is shooting .443 (27-61) from the field, .370 (10-27) from behind the arc and .938 (15-16) from the charity line. Penny Jones and Dana Carrigan are tied for second behind Boynton at 7.8 points per game each.

Katie Beth Pate leads Lipscomb in rebounds with 8.6 per game. Jones is second on the team on that list as well grabbing 6.0 boards per game.

This will be the fifth time that UCF and Lipscomb have met on the basketball court. The Lady Bisons lead the series 4-0. The last time that UCF and Lipscomb met was in the Atlantic Sun Tournament Championship game with Lady Bisons defeating the Golden Knights 64-62.

Tickets for Saturday's game are still available. Adults are $5. Youth age 17 and under and seniors age 55 and older pay $3.
