ORLANDO - Gary Johnson scored six of his 14 points in the final 3 minutes and added six rebounds and three steals as UCF held off Fordham, 65-61, in Wednesday's consolation game of the UCF Holiday Invitational.
Johnson's three-pointer with 3:10 left gave the Knights (8-2) the lead for good. Anthony Williams scored 13 points and Kingsley Edwards 10 for UCF.
Fordham's Bryant Dunston finished with a game-high 20 points and 10 rebounds. Marcus Stout had 11 points for the Rams (4-6).
UCF went on a 7-0 run to take its biggest lead of the game, 52-44, following a rebound basket by Justin Rose, but as they have been prone to do all season the Knights went through a long field goal drought (5:54). The Rams tied the game at 55-55 on a three-pointer by Stout with 4:44 left.
Both teams had shooting problems in the first 20 minutes, with the Knights shooting 38.5 percent from the floor, or 10-for-26, and the Rams 37.5 percent (9-for-24).
Jason Forte of Brown captured the MVP honors while teammate Luke Ruscoe also garnered all-tournament honors. Kurtis Rice of Charleston Southern and Bryant Dunston joined Gary Johnson and Anthony Williams to round out the all-tournament team.
UCF will be in action again on Monday when they travel to Atlanta to face Georgia State.
