ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Kingsley Edwards led four UCF players in double figures with a career-high 19 points as the Golden Knights defeated Campbell, 90-73, in an Atlantic Sun Conference game Thursday night.
UCF (6-1, 1-1) shot 61 percent from the floor, including 9-of-10 by Anthony Williams, who scored 18 points. Josh Peppers had 15 points and Gary Johnson 13 for the Knights.
UCF led by as many as 21 in the second half. Campbell (2-4, 0-1) cut its deficit to 48-40 on a basket by Maurice Latham with 18:40 left, but couldn't get closer as the Camels shot just 38 percent in the second half after hitting 67 percent in the first half.
Ruell Pringle led Campbell and all scorers with 25 points. Maurice Latham scored 22 and Anthony Aktinson added 10 for the Camels.
UCF hit 61 percent (11-for-18) of its three-point attempts in the first half, including seven in a row. Gary Johnson's three with a second remaining gave the Knights a 48-38 heading into the locker room.
UCF's 6-1 start marks the best start since the move to NCAA Division I. The Knights will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Kansas City, Mo., to face UMKC.
