ORLANDO - The men's basketball team returns to action against Campbell after an 11-day layoff. The Golden Knights knocked off UMKC on December 4 in their last contest to improve to 5-1, matching the best start in school history during the Division I era.

UCF has jumped out to their 5-1 start behind one of the best defenses in the nation. The Golden Knights rank 27th nationally in scoring defense, surrendering just 58.0 points per game while allowing opponents to shoot .375 from the field, 32nd nationally. UCF leads the A-Sun in both categories, while also allowing opponents to shoot just .294 from three-point range. The Knights also rank second in the league in blocked shots per game at 4.50 per contest.

Justin Rose continues to provide UCF with extra weapons off the bench. The 6-3 junior equaled a career-high seven points while dishing out a career-best six assists against UMKC. He added a pair of blocks and pulled down four rebounds in 23 minutes of action against the Kangaroos. For the year, Rose is averaging 5.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.

The Campbell Camels (2-4, 0-1 A-Sun) come into the contest averaging 58.3 points per game, as Anthony Atkinson leads the squad averaging 11.0 points per game. Atkinson is one of the top three-point shooters in the league, knocking down the three at a .462 clip while knocking down 2.0 treys per game. Comerlee Poole is nearly averaging a double-double at 9.5 points per game and 9.7 boards per contest.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. as Marc Daniels will call the action, which can be heard live on UCF ISP Sports Network and its flagship station 740-THE TEAM (AM). Tickets are still available. Adults are $6. Youth age 17 and under and seniors age 55 and older are $4. Children under five and UCF students with a valid UCF student I.D. are admitted free.
