VICTORIA, B.C. - Caitlin Pauls, a member of the UCF women's rowing team, received the Bobby Pearce Award from Rowing Canada recently.
The national award was given to Pauls as the one of the organization's two Junior Female Scullers of the Year after her stellar career with the Ridley Graduate Boat Club in her native Ontario. Rowing Canada is the governing body for the sport in that country.
Pauls was one of two freshmen that made her way into the Varsity Eight lineup for the Golden Knights this fall season and has been performing well for the Black and Gold.
"This is a great achievement for Caitlin," said second-year head coach Leeanne Crain. "She's been an outstanding addition to our team as the stroke for the Varsity Eight and we expect her to continue to make an impact for us."
UCF opens its spring schedule on March 5 against Michigan in Tampa.
