ORLANDO - UCF head coach George O'Leary announced Tuesday that freshman quarterback Kyle Israel and sophomore cornerback Travonti Johnson are out this week at Ball State with injuries. Israel suffered a stress fracture in his leg in the Ohio game while Johnson suffered a knee injury vs. the Bobcats.
Sophomore Steven Moffett will assume the stating job at quarterback with junior Brandon Sumner as the backup quarterback. At cornerback, sophomore Travis Holmes is listed as the starter on the two-deep roster while redshirt freshman Sheldon Shakespeare is No. 2 behind Holmes.
The Golden Knights play their final MAC road game Saturday at 4 p.m. vs. Ball State in Muncie, Ind.
