TAMPA - The UCF women's tennis team opened up the fall season against Florida International at the USF Invitational on Thursday afternoon by winning two singles and two doubles matches.
At No. 3 singles, Knights' junior Pamela Fernandez defeated Marijana Cutuk, 7-5, 6-1, while sophomore Megan Rosario-Hunter handed Jeanette Castro, 6-3, 4-6 (10-4), at No. 6 singles.
In doubles play, Fernandez and Rosario-Hunter paired up to beat Bruna Discordia and Desanka Jovanovic, 8-4. Senior Ola Luczak and freshman Kyla McNichol also earned a win going 9-7 against the duo of D'Armas and Jonson.
UCF continues play in the USF Invitational against the host Bulls on Friday at 10 a.m.
