Women's Tennis Sweeps Doubles vs. Stetson

DeLand - The UCF women's tennis team swept the double competition and earned four singles victories against Stetson in a mock dual tournament on Sunday at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.

The tournament format allowed the two squads to go head-to-head, but team scores were not counted.

The Golden Knights started out in impressive fashion earning wins in all three doubles matches. At the No. 1 position, the duo of junior Pamela Fernandez and senior Ola Luczak defeated Maja Miladinovic and Mili Moilvanovic, 8-4, while the other two Knights' pairs took 8-1 victories.

UCF also swept the No. 1 and 2 positions in singles. Senior Kristina Lohmos defeated Hatter Jackie Bohannon, 6-3, 7-5, in the top spot and Fernandez downed Miladinovic, 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2. The Knights' freshman also performed well as Anna Yakimchenkova defeated Danielle Mollman, 6-1, 6-4 and Becky Gordon didn't drop a game to Jen Wisnoski.

The Golden Knights cap off their fall campaign with a trip to Tallahassee for the FSU Tournament from Oct. 28-30.
