ORLANDO - The Golden Knights will face Jacksonville in the opening round of the A-Sun tournament Friday at 11:00 am in the UCF Arena.
The Golden Knights have been a staple in the A-Sun championship during their 13 year run in the league. In the previous 12 years in the A-Sun, UCF has made the conference final in 11-of-12 years and won nine of those tournaments. The Golden Knights put up a 1-4 mark against the other five teams in the conference tournament this season. The Knights lone win was a 3-2 victory over a previously unbeaten Belmont squad in UCF Arena. The Knights fell 3-0 to Georgia State and Jacksonville while falling 3-1 to Mercer and Florida Atlantic.
Jacksonville posted an 8-2 mark in the A-Sun and 12-13 overall mark. The Dolphins defeated UCF 3-0 on November 7 in the regular season. Eva Stolova leads JU averaging 3.13 kills per game while Danielle Neville ranks fourth in the A-Sun in blocks per game at 1.02. Stolova was named first team all-conference. UCF leads the all-time series with JU 38-12.
