FELLSMERE - The UCF novice rowing team took the top two places in the "B" event and third in the "A" event at the Florida Intercollegiate Rowing Association Fall Classic on Canal 54 on Saturday. It was the first and only regatta for the novice squad this fall.
The Golden Knight lightweight eight of coxswain Stephanie Mangone, Tracy Milnamow, Michelle Moore, Lauren Kelley, Katie Fulton, Jenna Minter, Anne Marie Hofmann, Kelly Verrando and Anne Marie Rossi earned first place in the novice eight "B" race with a time of 12:39 followed by UCF's novice "B" team at 13:29. The Knights "C" and "D" boats were fourth and sixth in the same event.
In the novice "A" event, UCF placed third at 12:25.
The Golden Knights open the spring season on Feb. 26.
