UCF Women's Basketball to Play Final Exhibition Game before Regular Season Starts

ORLANDO, Fla. - The UCF women's basketball team will host Team Reebok on Saturday at 2 p.m. in their second exhibition game before starting their regular season. The Golden Knights defeated the Miami Suns in their first exhibition game 70-47.

Projected starters for the Knights are seniors Takira Allen and Ali Roberts and juniors Celeste Hudson, Shayla Smith and Shelby Weber. Against the Miami Suns last week, these five were 19 of 39 on field goals, three of nine on three-point field goals and four of 13 on free throws for a total of 45 points while grabbing 30 rebounds with 13 assists, three blocks and six steals.

The team was led by Hudson who recorded a double-double after scoring 17 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Roberts and sophomore Francine Houston each scored 10 points for the Knights.

After going into halftime up 24-22, the Knights came out with a new fire scoring 46 points in the last 20 minutes. At one point in the game, UCF was up by 25 points.

Team Reebok comes into Orlando after losing to Rollins College Wednesday night. Reebok was 25 of 65 on field goals, 6 of 22 on three-point field goals and eight of 14 on free throws for a total of 64 points. Reebok grabbed 31 rebounds while blocking three and stealing five.

The Golden Knights will start their regular season on Friday, November 19 when they take on the University of Nevada-Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nev. The first home game for UCF will be Friday, November 26 when they take on Southern Miss at noon.

Tickets for Saturday's game are still available. Adults are $5. Youth age 17 and under and seniors age 55 and older pay $3.
