Cordova, Tenn. - Senior Andreas Hoegberg and junior Stefan Wistorf shot rounds of 70 and 73 Monday and to lead UCF to the top of the standings after two rounds of the Memphis Intercollegiate at the Colonial Country Club. The Golden Knights lead the 16-team field by four shots over the host University of Memphis.
Hoegberg and Wistorf are tied for second at 1-under-par, two shots behind Xavier's Neal Grusczynski. UCF sophomore Steven Bain, playing in his first tournament of the fall, shot rounds of 70 and 74 and is tied for sixth at even-par 144.
Led by Bain and Hoegberg, who shot identical 2-under-par 70s, UCF opened with a 1-under-par round of 287 Monday morning and followed that with a round of 292 in the afternoon to finish the day at 3-over-par 579. Wistorf was UCF's low man of the afternoon when he posted a 70.
The tournament will conclude with 18 holes of play Tuesday over the 6,991 yard par 72 Colonial Country Club South Course.
