ORLANDO - UCF men's tennis player Catalin Bradu earned 2004 CoSIDA Academic All-District III At-Large First Team honors as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America on Thursday.

A senior finance major, Bradu compiled a 13-8 record in 21 singles matches this season and was undefeated with a 6-0 mark at No. 2 and No. 3. For his efforts, he received Atlantic Sun First-Team All-Conference honors for the second time in his career. He also helped lead the Golden Knights to their second consecutive conference title and a berth in the NCAA Tournament.

Bradu finished his career at UCF with a 65-30 (.684) record in singles and a 57-29 (.663) record in doubles. He also excelled off the court earning Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete and A-Sun All-Academic Team recognition.

Nominees for CoSIDA academic honors must be at least a sophomore, have completed at least one year at their school, have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or better and make a significant contribution to their teams.

Bradu and the other first-team all-district honorees will be among those considered for the Academic All-America Team, which will be released in June.
