AUSTIN, Texas - UCF's LesSundra Ford finished in a three-way tie for 20th in the high jump at the 2004 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships late on Friday night.
Ford, the first in the history of the program to advance to the NCAA National Championships, earned a mark of 5-feet, 8.5 inches to tie Arkansas' Julie Johnson and UCLA's Julie Stevenson. Ford had been ranked in a tie for 18th prior to the competition.
Chaunte Howard of Georgia Tech took top honors in the field of 29 with a jump of 6-4.
"I am really proud of LesSundra," said UCF head coach Marcia Mansur-Wenworth. "She did a good job. It was a real learning experience for her."
