Women's Golf Places Eighth At Beacon Woods

BAYONET POINT, Fla. - The UCF women's golf team completed play at the Beacon Woods Invitational with an eighth-place finish after carding a 54-hole total of 911. UCF shot a team score of 313 Sunday, its highest round of the tournament to fall from sixth place to ninth in the final standings.

East Carolina won the event with a team score of 878.

Entering the day, junior Ashley Grier (Hagerstown, Md./Smithsburg) was in second place, one shot out of the lead. The Maryland native carded a six-over par 78 Sunday to finish tied for seventh (219).

The Golden Knights return to action Friday for a three-day tournament in Miami. The Pat Bradley Golf Championship is hosted by Florida International and begins Friday with the first round of play.
