DeLAND - The UCF women's golf team shot its third lowest round of the fall with a score of 306 to place third after 18 holes at the Hatter Fall Classic Monday. The Golden Knights are 11 shots behind Campbell and five strokes behind second-place Georgia State.
In the individual standings, UCF has two players in the top 10. Junior Ashley Grier (Hagerstown, Md./Smithsburg) continued her excellent play with an even par 72 to stand in second place. Grier is three shots behind Maite Ortiz de Pinedo of Campbell, who fired a three-under 69.
Sophomore Lauren Motyl (New Bedford, Mass./New Bedford) has also had a strong fall season, carding a four-over par 76 to stand in a tie for eighth after 18 holes.
Senior Livia Jakobsson (Stockholm, Sweden) is tied for 20th after an opening round 78 (+6) while sophomore Holly Boot (Naples, Fla./Barron Collier) is tied for 28th (80) and junior Jess Trein is tied for 41st (82).
The Golden Knights finish play with the final 18 holes Tuesday from the Victoria Hills Golf Club in DeLand.
