NEW YORK, N.Y. – UCF junior left-handed pitcher Jaime Douglas was drafted in the 26th round by the Anaheim Angels on the second day of the 2004 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. Douglas was selected with the 773rd pick of the draft, and is the fourth UCF player taken in the draft.
Matt Fox (supplemental first round) was drafted by Minnesota while Clay Timpner (fourth round) was chosen by San Francisco and Kyle Bono (eighth round) was taken by the Boston Red Sox.
Douglas went 1-2 with a 4.33 ERA in 2004. The left-handed made 11 appearances including six starts and worked 27.0 innings. He allowed 28 walks and 28 strikeouts while opponents hit just .238 against him.
For his career, Douglas is 1-2 with a 4.36 ERA in 43.1 innings. The two-year performer for the Golden Knights averaged a strikeout per inning over his career.
