MACON, GA. – UCF sophomore pitcher Kyle Bono was named the Atlantic Sun Baseball Pitcher-of-the-Week by the league office on Monday afternoon. Bono pitched the first complete game shutout of his career to lead UCF to a three game sweep over Gardner-Webb.
Bono is the third UCF pitcher to earn the award this season, the most of any conference member.
Bono tossed seven scoreless innings and yielded just four hits and no walks to go along with seven strikeouts in the 2-0 win. Bono has not allowed an earned run over the last 19 1/3 innings pitched and is 2-0 on the season with a 1.32 ERA. He has 38 strikeouts in just 34 innings pitched with just eight walks.
