Bear Named To Verizon Academic All-District III First Team

ORLANDO – UCF senior Ryan Bear has been selected to the Verizon Academic All-District III first team Thursday for his work in the classroom and on the baseball diamond this season. The senior from Panama City now advances to the national ballot for consideration on the Verizon Academic All-America teams.

Bear, a senior management major with an impressive 3.72 cumulative grade point average, has been the most consistent player all season long for UCF. He leads the Golden Knights in nearly every offensive category including average (.384), hits (66), runs (40), doubles (18), triples (5), home runs (5), RBI (34), total bases (109) and slugging percentage (.634).

Earlier in the season, Bear was honored by the National Strength and Conditioning Coaches as an All-American for his hard work and dedication in the weight room.

Bear and his teammates return to action Saturday at 7 p.m. vs. Stetson in DeLand. The game will be aired live on Sunshine Network and the UCF ISP Sports Network (740 AM The Team).
