Former Golden Knight Arnold Promoted To Triple-A

ORLANDO – Former UCF standout pitcher Jason Arnold was promoted to the Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays Saturday night. Arnold was sent to the Syracuse SkyChiefs of the International League.

The right-hander was having an outstanding start to the 2003 season with the New Haven Ravens, the Double-A affiliate of the Blue Jays. Arnold was 3-1 with a 1.53 ERA in six starts for the Ravens. In 35.1 innings, Arnold fired 33 strikeouts and allowed just 18 hits. Opponents were batting just .153 against him this season.

Earlier in the year, Arnold eclipsed the 250-innings pitched mark for his professional career. As of May 5, Arnold was 22-7 as a professional with a 2.19 ERA in 250.2 innings. He has 254 strikeouts and just 77 walks while opponents are batting just .190 against him.

A 2001 All-American pitcher for the Golden Knights, Arnold finished his UCF career with an outstanding senior campaign. Arnold was 14-3 with a 1.97 ERA and 150 strikeouts in his final season with the Black and Gold in 2001.
