ORLANDO - The UCF track and field team produced an incredible day on the track to open the Knights Invite, securing multiple event wins and top-10 marks, setting the stage for tomorrow’s senior day activities.

The lone field event of the day saw three Knights embark on the long jump, once again producing strong performances in front of the home crowd. Senior Natalia Madison replicated her event-winning outing during the Black and Gold Invitational last month, upping her mark to 6.11m in the process to claim first.

Hayley Manners made her UCF debut after an incredible recovery from an injury sustained shortly after her arrival in Orlando in the fall of 2023. The graduate placed 15th with a respective 5.45m performance. Sophomore Alexis Waller rounded out the field in 22nd with her 5.29m jump.

A week after entering the top-10 in program history, Y’Vette Harris clocked a 1:00.02 in the 400m hurdles to finish fourth.

Five Knights laced up for the 200m, with three landing in the top-10 after a stacked 12 heats. I’Asia Wilson led the way in second with her 23.68 performance, followed by Madison in eighth (24.26) and Twaneise Johnson just inches behind her in ninth (24.27), each securing personal records.

Coco Branch (24.62) and Khristel Martindale (24.63) trailed back-to-back in 16th and 17th to round out the field.

The first of two distance events in the night cap authored three top-five finishes in the 1500m. Yvone Sandui clocked a personal-best and sixth fastest time in program history of 4:29.86 to win the event. Junior Kendall Hughes secured the runner-up spot with her time of 4:34.28, while newcomer Bailey McLain tallied her best collegiate performance of 4:37 to finish fifth.

As if the 1500m’s success wasn’t enough, the Knights' 3000m display saw four athletes place in the top five, each securing a spot in the record books.

After a breakout indoor slate, sophomore Abby Clements secured her best collegiate performance to date, running the second fastest time in program history to place second in the event at 10:06.19. Isabella Richardson joined her teammate on the podium, placing third and jumping into the all-time lists at third, crossing the line in 10:08.43.

Twins Riley and Paige Jaszczak were right alongside each other as they placed fourth and fifth, running impressive times of 10:08.74 and 10:12.14, ranking third and seventh on the all-time chart. Freshman Avery Latto concluded the Black and Gold’s presence in the top-10, placing seventh with her time of 10:24.66.

The Knights will be back in action tomorrow for senior day, with the ceremony set to commence at 1 p.m. ET.
