Women's Golf in 8th Following Round One at Charlottesville Regional

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The UCF women’s golf team led off the first round of the NCAA Regionals with a 298 (+14) at Birdwood Golf Cub in Charlottesville, Virginia. 

The Knights ended the day in 8th place while South Carolina leads the pack with a first-round score 277 (-7).

Molly Smith finished the day at even par (71) and is in 11th place. Starting on hole No. 10, Smith tallied four birdies and back-to-back birdies on holes 15 and 16. The junior ended the day with a birdie on hole No. 9 on a par three.

Pimpisa “Sandwich” Sisutham tallied a 73 (+2) to land in 31st place and notched four birdies.

Jamie Camero ended the day in 43rd place after she recorded a 76 (+5). The freshman carded a birdie on hole No. 8.

Mila Jurine shot a 78 (+7) which put her in 51st place as she notched a birdie on hole No. 12.

Katie Poots rounded out the Knights’ lineup with a 79 (+8) and is in 57th place after the first round. She also sank a birdie on hole No. 12.

The Knights will tee off at 8:55 a.m. on hole No. 1 for round two of the Charlottesville Regional Tuesday, May 6.
