No. 17 Rowing Wraps Up Rocky Top Invitational

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. - The No. 17 UCF rowing team concluded the Rocky Top Invitational with two second-place and two third-place finishes.

The morning started with the I Eight securing their spot in second place. The crew crossed the finish with a time of 06:29.280 following No. 5 Tennessee’s 06:20.714. The boat finished about 14 seconds ahead of No. 14 Duke (06.43.635). The I Eight improved their time from the day prior by just over 10 seconds. 

The next boat to race was the II Eight. The boat finished third with a time of 06.41.412, seven seconds behind No. 5 Tennessee (06.34.506) and two seconds behind No. 14 Duke (06.39.509). 

The I Four competed next, crossing the finish with a time of 7:31.346. Their time put them in third following No. 5 Tennessee at 07:25.987 and No. 14 Duke at 07:28:994.

The last boat to race was the II Four, who secured a Knights’ second-place finish for the second time on the day. The crew finished in lane five at 07:39.798. The race was a hard fought battle as No. 5 Tennessee finished at 07:34.798 and No. 14 Duke finished at 07:40.642.

The Black and Gold will have a few weeks off before traveling to Austin, Texas for the Longhorn Invitational on April 25 and 26.
