A rising redshirt junior, Foumena hails from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The six-foot-eleven center spent two years with Rhode Island, redshirting in 2022-23 before appearing in 28 games off the bench during his freshman campaign. He averaged 5.3 points and 3.5 rebounds per contest with the Rams in 2023-24, shooting 52.5% from the floor in the process. He showed the ability to hit shots from long range as well, recording a 32% clip. He played in nine games this past season with the Bulldogs.

Foumena attended one of Canada’s top programs while in high school, attending Orangeville Prep near Toronto. He averaged a double-double during his senior season under the direction of coach Tony McIntyre. Orangeville Prep has developed multiple players into NBA products, one of which was Jamal Murray.

Foumena was teammates with fellow incoming transfer Riley Kugel, a rising senior guard who averaged 9.3 points per game last season.
