Men's Soccer Set for Friday Match against Premier League Futures

ORLANDO – The UCF men’s soccer team is set for its fifth contest of the spring 2025 campaign, an exciting opportunity that promises to bring the eyes of the sport from around the globe to Orlando.

The Knights will welcome the Premier League Futures to The City Beautiful for a Friday evening matchup set for a 7 p.m. kickoff time from the UCF Soccer Complex.

Friday’s matchup is the latest for the initiative established by the Premier League that has sought to aid the Premier League academy players pursue alternative pathways within the sport, with an emphasis on showcasing the possible paths through collegiate soccer that can be followed within the United States.

“We couldn’t be more excited to play a match against, and more importantly welcome to Orlando, a team assembled by the Premier League. The Premier League, the most visible soccer league in the world, has taken a keen interest in helping players who don’t immediately continue their careers in the professional ranks to find other pathways, and we’re thrilled that UCF has the opportunity to be a part of this initiative.”

The game will feature youth players from a variety of English Premier League clubs, including West Ham United F.C. and Charlton Athletic F.C., and coaches from academies will also make the trip to the Sunshine State to coach the squad in the unique showcase hosted by UCF.
