Lincer Becomes Second-Consecutive Knight to be Tabbed Big 12 Player of the Week

ORLANDO - For the second consecutive edition, the UCF women’s tennis team has garnered the Big 12 Player of the Week award, with Olivia Lincer securing the honor after a dominating weekend on the court.

Having yet to lose a singles duel this season, the Polish native was a key figure in the squad’s second-straight weekend sweep to commence conference action. The reigning Big 12 Freshman of the Year joins current first-year Aya El Aouni as weekly honorees of the conference’s premier in-season award.

After tallying three wins in six singles duels during the non-conference campaign, Lincer has pushed her performance to another level during the opening stretch of Big 12 play, dropping just one set en route to a quartet of court-two triumphs.

Her wins in singles marked the first for UCF in each of its matches against No. 15 Baylor and No. 40 TCU, sparking an overall dominating display from the squad to secure the results.

The highlight for Lincer came alongside freshman Hannah Rylatt, as the tandem, ranked among the top 50 to begin the season, has found form once again, leading the Knights’ doubles lineup.

Against the Bears, the duo took down the 15th-ranked pairing of Christina Tiglea and Liubov Kostenko swiftly 6-1, a result that was mirrored on Sunday against the Horned Frogs’ 23-ranked tandem of Jade Otway and Isabel Pascual.

Remaining as the lone undefeated Knight, Lincer and the squad is one of two teams alongside No. 14 Texas Tech to sit at 4-0 in the Big 12. UCF will welcome No. 52 Iowa State and No. 40 Kansas to the USTA National Campus this weekend to round out the four-match homestand.
