Back in Orlando since December, UCF head coach Scott Frost and the Knights have their 2025 schedule in hand, following Tuesday’s Big 12 Conference announcement. The slate features seven home games, including four conference matchups, five road contests, and three nonconference battles at FBC Mortgage Stadium. UCF kicks off the season with a pair of nonconference home games, as Jacksonville State heads to Orlando for the season opener Thursday, Aug. 28, followed by a visit from North Carolina A&T on Saturday, Sept. 6.
After a bye week on Sept. 13, North Carolina and its new head coach, Bill Belichick, will make their way to the Bounce House. Although UCF had two previously scheduled matchups against the Tar Heels, neither game materialized. The Knights were set to visit Chapel Hill in 2018, but the game was canceled due to a hurricane affecting the Orlando area, while the 2020 matchup was called off because of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, UCF’s first three games of the season will be first-time matchups against each opponent.
Similar to UCF’s inaugural Big 12 season in 2023, the Black and Gold will open conference play at Kansas State on Sept. 27. The following week, Kansas makes its first trip to FBC Mortgage Stadium for UCF’s home conference opener on Oct. 4.
