ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla. – Following a three-month break in action, the UCF men’s golf opened its spring slate at the Sea Best Invitational Monday afternoon at the Atlantic Beach Country Club. The Knights are 11th after the first two rounds with a team score of 589 (+21).
The Black and Gold fired an eight-over-par 292 in the first round and a 297 (+13) in the second round.
Sophomore Hans Risvaer led the Knights at three over (145) to tie for 37th on the player leaderboard. He shot an even par 71 in the opening round and a 74 in the afternoon round. The Miami native had five birdies in round one and three in round two.
Clemente Silva was also even through the first 18 holes before shooting a 75 in the second round to conclude the day at four-over-par 146. He had four birdies in the first round and finished the day with five total. Silva is tied for 43rd.
Junior Chase Haygood had a strong day on the course, recording a 75 in round one and a 72 in the second round. His only blemish on his scoreboard from the opening round was a difficult hole 10, in which he was unable to go over a water hazard on the course. Haygood dropped in three birdie putts in the second round with each on the front nine.
Lucas Dutartre and Gustav Andersson rounded out the lineup with each player carding a nine over thanks to a 75 in the first round and a 76 in the second round. Dutartre finished the day with nine birdies and Andersson had six.
Marc Keller competed as an individual, firing a 76 and a 78 to conclude the day 12 over.
UCF will return to the course Tuesday for the final round of the Sea Best Invitational. Play begins at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start.
