ORLANDO - It has been nearly 100 days since the UCF men’s golf team concluded its fall season and was last in action, but the Knights will kick off the spring season by heading to Atlantic Beach, Florida, to compete in the Sea Best Invitational. The tournament will take place at the Atlantic Beach Country Club Monday, Feb. 3 and Tuesday, Feb. 4, with Jacksonville University serving as the host.

The teams play 36 holes Monday and the final 18 holes of the 54-hole event on Tuesday. Play will begin each day with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Fans can follow the action on Leaderboard King by clicking HERE.

The Knights will compete against No. 14 Florida, No. 28 Texas A&M, Florida Atlantic, FGCU, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Louisiana Tech, North Alabama, Queens University of Charlotte, UNCW and USC Upstate.

UCF is competing in the Sea Best Invitational for the second consecutive year, as last year’s event was also hosted by Jacksonville and held at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach.

The Atlantic Beach Country Club is an 18-hole championship golf course that is 6,815 yards and is a par 71. Previously known as Selva Marina Country Club, the course has hosted numerous prestigious events, including the Greater Jacksonville Open, where golf legend Jack Nicklaus recorded his first double eagle in tournament competition on the 18th hole in 1966. More recently, Atlantic Beach Country Club proudly hosted the prestigious Web.com Tour Championship in 2016, 2017, and 2018 and received abundant praise for its impressive conditions.

This qualifying and selection criteria for the Knights’ lineup is below. Clemente Silva, who has been playing some of his best golf recently with a top-20 finish at the Latin America Amateur Championship, qualified on his own, shooting +11 of the required +14 average over the 14 rounds.

The final five spots were coaches picks determined by all the data points shown below, including each player’s win-loss record for events during the fall season in addition to their Collegiate Scoreboard ranking.
