Women's Golf Heads To Briar's Creek Invitational

ORLANDO – For the third consecutive year, the UCF women’s golf team will compete in the Briar’s Creek Invitational hosted by Charleston at Briar’s Creek Country Club from Monday, March 11 to Tuesday, March 12. 


The 54-hole event will feature 36 holes of play on Monday followed by 18 holes Tuesday. The teams will have an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on both days. The course is a par 72 measuring 6,152 yards. 


UCF’s lineup will consist of Pimpisa “Sandwich” Sisutham, Jess Baker, Brittany Shin, Molly Smith, and Katie Poots, while Camille Banzet will compete as an individual. 


The Knights will face a challenging field that features five teams ranked among the top 50 of the latest Scoreboard by Clippd Rankings. No. 10 Florida leads the group while the Black and Gold are ranked No. 17, No. 26 Purdue, No. 35 Michigan State, No. 37 Maryland and No. 48 Miami. Host Charleston sits just outside of the top 50 ranked 59th. The remaining teams in the field include Boston College, Campbell, Georgetown, Illinois, Nebraska, NC State, Old Dominion, Penn State, Rutgers and Wisconsin. 


Last year, the Knights finished second in the event finishing three shots behind first place. Baker led the Knights with a T3 finish and carded a three-round score of 211 (-5).
