ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – After a hard-fought loss at Houston over the weekend, the Knights (4-4, 2-2 The American) are preparing to take on Tulane (3-5, 0-4 The American) on Saturday at Bright House Networks Stadium.

This will be the Knights fifth conference game and first contest at home since Oct. 15. The team and fans will be armored in black for the 5 p.m. kick on ESPN3.  It was originally scheduled to take place on Oct. 7, but the preparations for Hurricane Matthew forced the game to be moved. Both teams had a scheduled bye week on Nov. 5.

Head coach Scott Frost cited this three game stretch at home as a good way for the guys to get in front of the UCF fans and feed off of their energy.

"We need to be ready to come out with our best. I expect it to be a battle," Frost said. "Being at home three weeks in a row should help us, since we'll being playing in front of our home crowd, and we won't have to worry about the wear and tear of traveling on the road."

The reigning American Player of the Week, redshirt junior Shaquem Griffin, believes that this homestand can work in favor of the Knights.

"I feel like it's going to be an advantage for us playing in front of the home crowd. Coming back home, we're going to feel a family-like vibe from the UCF fans," Griffin said. "For us knowing that the fans will be out there bringing us up, it is going to push us to do better on the field.  We know that we have all of UCF behind us, and that we're not just playing by ourselves. It feels pretty good."
