Sept. 23, 2008

ORLANDO, Fla. -

Complete Release in PDF Format

UCF has suffered a loss in each of its last two outings, the latest being a 34-7 setback at Boston College last Saturday. UCF led 7-3 at half time but the Eagles rattled off 31 unanswered second half points while the Knights gained just 85 yards offensively. UCF's touchdown came in the second quarter on a Michael Greco run.

The Knights will be eager to get rid of the remnants of that loss this week as they prepare for their 2008 conference opener at UTEP. The Knights have won two of their three previous Conference USA openers but this will be the first time they have travelled away from Orlando to open the schedule. The long trip to the western edge of Texas will bring the challenge of defeating a UTEP team which played UCF tight last fall in Orlando before losing 36-20. Led by veteran head coach Mike Price, UTEP is 0-3 on the heels of a tough 34-33 loss on Saturday night against rival New Mexico State in their annual battle for the Silver Spade and the Brass Spittoon.
