Sophie Carmosino joined the UCF rowing staff as an assistant coach in August 2023.
Carmosino joins the UCF staff following a stellar career as a student-athlete with the Indiana Hoosiers. The Hoosiers turned in a program-record third-place finish at the Big 10 Championships this past season and earned a bid to the NCAA Championship. Indiana finished 16th in the final Pocock Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Poll and 17th at the NCAA Championship.
The Noblesville, Indiana, native rowed as the stroke of the Second Varsity Eight boat throughout the season.
A standout student in addition to her accolades on the water, Carmosino was tabbed a Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Scholar-Athlete, which is given annually to student-athletes that have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better.
Before transferring to Indiana ahead of the 2021 season, Carmosino rowed for Colgate University.
She graduated from Indiana with a degree in political science along with a degree in earth and atmospheric sciences.
