Knights Close Out Augusta Haskins Award Invitational Strong

AUGUSTA, Ga. – UCF men’s golf closed out its 2023-24 regular-season slate with one of its best rounds of the season, as the Knights recorded a one-under-par 287 to conclude play in the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational Sunday afternoon at the Forest Hills Golf Club.

The Black and Gold tallied a round under par for the sixth time this season and for the third consecutive tournament. Three of UCF’s five golfers in the lineup were either under par or even.

UCF ended with a three-round score of 879 (+15) to finish eighth, earning a pair of ranked wins in the process as No. 26 Mississippi State (+17) and No. 47 South Florida (+16) each finished behind the Knights.

Top-ranked North Carolina won the team championship with an 843 (-21), while No. 18 Texas finished second with an 849 (-15) and No. 32 Oklahoma State was third at -13 (851).

For the third consecutive event, freshman Hans Risvaer led the Knights on the player leaderboard as he shot a two-under-par 70. The Miami native tallied five birdies Sunday to end the invitational with a three-round score of 217 (+1) to tie for 26th.

Senior Egor Eroshenko was one under (71) in the third round with three birdies to tie for 37th with a 219 (+3). Chase Haygood, a sophomore from Daytona Beach, Florida, logged the same score over three rounds with an even par 72 on Sunday. He birdied holes No. 9, 11 and 12.

Cooper Tate had his best showing of the weekend with a 74 in the final round, headlined by a strong back nine as he was two under with three birdies and only one bogey. He shot a three-round score of 231 (+15).

Gustav Andersson notched a three-over-par 75 in Sunday’s last round with a birdie on No. 11. He was one over at the turn but had a few bogeys on the back nine to inflate his score. For the invitational, Andersson carded a 233 (+17).

The Knights have now concluded their regular season schedule and return to action for their inaugural appearance in the Big 12 Championship held April 22-24 at Whispering Pines Golf Club in Trinity, Texas.
