Rowing Heads to Lake Wheeler Invitational

ORLANDO – This weekend, the Knights’ rowing team will make their first out-of-state trip of the season as they head to Raleigh, North Carolina, for the Lake Wheeler Invitational.

 The trip to Lake Wheeler marks the fifth time UCF has traveled to the regatta, which is set to begin on Friday, April 26, and end on Saturday, April 27. The II Four, I Four, II Eight and I Eight will each compete three times this weekend, with two sessions on Friday and one race on Saturday morning. The Knights come into the regatta receiving votes in the Pocock Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) poll for the third consecutive week.

 The UCF II Four starts the weekend for the Knights on Friday morning at 10:40 against North Carolina, Clemson, Navy and Iowa (RV). The I Four follows up at 11:10 a.m. against Louisville, Navy, North Carolina, Clemson and Iowa.

 The Knights’ II Eight launches at 11:40 a.m. against Louisville, North Carolina, Clemson, Iowa and Navy with the I Eight closing out the first session of racing at 12:10 p.m. against those respective teams.

 Following a break, the II Four opens the second session of racing for UCF at 3:50 p.m. against Georgetown, Navy, No. 16 Duke and No. 18 Washington State. The I Four will go at 4:20 p.m. adding Louisville to the mix.

 The II Eight starts at 4:50 p.m. followed by the I Eight at 5:20 p.m.

 The Knights’ racing schedule on Saturday begins at 9 a.m. as the II Four faces off against Tulsa, Kansas, Boston College and Navy. The I Four starts at 10 a.m. with the addition of Louisville, followed by the II Eight at 10:30 a.m. and the I Eight at 11 a.m.
