Men’s Golf Concludes Play at Mobile Bay Intercollegiate

MOBILE, Ala. – The UCF men’s golf team concluded play in the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate with its best round of the weekend, as the Knights were two under par with a 282 to tie for the second-lowest round by any team Tuesday afternoon at the Magnolia Grove Golf Course.

The Knights finished seventh as a team in the event with an 868 (+16) team score, just three strokes shy of the top five. Texas State won the intercollegiate with an 843(-9), while Illinois State was second at five under (847).

Sophomore Chase Haygood turned in a bogey-free round Tuesday with a 69 (-2) thanks to an even par on the front nine and two under on the back nine with birdies on No. 16 and 18. Freshman Hans Risvaer also registered a 69 in the final round with four birdies, including three on the back nine.

Gustav Andersson, Egor Eroshenko and Cooper Tate each fired a one-over-par 72 in the third round. Eroshenko and Tate both had three birdies and Andersson had one.

Competing as an individual, Garret Ebbert carded a 75 (+4) with three birdies.

Risvaer logged another top-10 finish, as he tallied a three-round score of 212 (-1) with two rounds under par to tie for seventh. Haygood ended with a 217 (+4) to tie for 24th and Eroshenko tied for 36th with a 219 (+6). Ebbert and Tate were both nine over for the tournament to place 45th and Andersson was 52nd at 11-over.

UCF returns to action at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational held Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7 at the Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia.
