Eroshenko Leads UCF Men’s Golf on First Day of Gators Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Senior Egor Eroshenko put together two of his best rounds of the season to lead UCF men’s golf on the first day of the Vystar Credit Union Gators Invitational held Friday at the Mark Bostick Golf Course. Following the first two rounds, Eroshenko is tied for fifth on the player leaderboard with a 134 (-6). He sits just three strokes shy of Florida’s Ian Gilligan (-9) for the individual lead.

As a team, the Knights are tied for 11th with a 568 (+8) following a 285 (+5) in the first round and a 283 (+3) in the second round.

Eroshenko carded a two-under-par 68 in the first round Friday, headlined by five birdies. In the second round, he shot a 66 (-4) to record his best round of the season thanks to five birdies and just one bogey.

Freshman Hans Risvaer had a great opening round with a 69 (-1), tying for 17th on the player leaderboard at the conclusion of the first round. He had three birdies in round one. Risvaer notched a 75 in the second round to sit among the top 50 following the first day of play with a 144 (+4).

Chase Haygood, sophomore from Daytona Beach, Florida, shot a 74 through the first 18 holes and a 72 on the second 18. He’s compiled a 146 (+6) through the first two rounds with four birdies.

Cooper Tate and Gustav Andersson are both eight over after the first day at the Gators Invitational with a 148. Tate shot a 77 in the first round, but put together a great second round with a one-over-par 71, while Andersson had a 74 in both rounds. Andersson dropped in five birdies and Tate notched four.

The Knights return to action at 7:30 a.m. Saturday with a modified shotgun start to try and complete the final 18 holes before potential inclement weather.
