Knights Conclude Action at Island Resort Intercollegiate

HARRIS, Mich. – The UCF men’s golf team wrapped up its first tournament of the 2023-24 season on Monday, as the Knights finished eighth at the Island Resort Intercollegiate held at the Sage Run Golf Club in Harris, Michigan.

The Knights compiled an 860 team score to finish the three-round event four under par and tied with Coastal Carolina for eighth place. Michigan won the tournament with an 834 (-30) and Illinois State was second at -25 (839).

True freshmen Cy Norman and Garret Ebbert led UCF in their collegiate debuts, as Norman carded a three-round 211 (-5) and Ebbert recorded a 212 (-4) to finish 16th and 17th, respectively. Norman was below par all three rounds, while Ebbert was under on two rounds headlined by a five under par 67 on Monday.

Hans Risvaer, a true freshman from Miami, shot a 213 (-1) with a 73 on Monday to conclude his first weekend as a college golfer. Texas Tech transfer Gustav Andersson also fired a 73 (+1) in Monday’s final round to close out his weekend with a 214 (-2).

Each player finished among the top 25 on the individual leaderboard.

Egor Eroshenko opened the season with a 218 (+2) following rounds of 72-73-73. Marc Keller tallied a 219 (+3), highlighted by wrapping up the event with a 71 (-1) on Monday.

Nicholas Estrada put together a strong final round on Monday, carding a 69 (-3) to close out the intercollegiate with a 220. Jakob Stubhaug, in his first competition as a member of the Knights after transferring from Keiser University, shot a 77 in the third round to close out the weekend with a 227.

UCF will be back in action Sept. 18-19 at the Bearcat Invitational held at the Coldstream Country Club in Cincinnati, Ohio.
