ORLANDO – Isabella Richardson has been named American Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
"I am extremely proud of Izzy and how she has opened up her season," Cross Country Coach Bryan Jackson said. "This is a great recognition, especially considering it is only the second race of her college career! I am excited to see how her hard work continues to pay off!"
The freshman from New Zealand shattered the UCF freshman 5K record with a time of 17:12.38, which is also the fourth fastest time in program history.
The Knights will be back in action on Sept. 30 in the FAU Invitational at South County Regional Park in Boca Raton.
