ORLANDO, Fla. – The UCF men's soccer team is set for its final match of non-conference play as they host FGCU on Saturday at 1 p.m.

The Knights are coming off back-to-back one goal losses to ACC opponents. The Black and Gold were leading No. 10 Virginia Tech at halftime before seeing the Hokies score twice in 18 seconds. UCF's matchup with NC State saw the Wolfpack take a 2-0 lead into halftime. Despite the loss, the Knights came out of the locker room with their hair on fire, heavily outshooting and out-chancing NC State, grabbing one goal back but unable to find the equalizer.

Gino Vivi scored the lone goal in the Knights' match against NC State. Vivi, along with Lucca Dourado, have scored 13 of UCF's last 16 goals, dating back to last season. Dourado has been responsible for seven of those goals and scored three of the final four goals during the 2020-21 campaign. Dourado has tallied three goals so far this season while Vivi has collected two.

Saturday's contest against the Eagles will be the Knights' final non-conference matchup of the regular season. UCF has faced FGCU eight times in its history, going 3-3-2 and winning the last two meetings by a combined score of 9-2.

The Eagles enter the weekend with a record of 0-2-1 and haven't scored a goal yet this season, falling 1-0 in overtime to FIU and 2-0 to Mercer, as well as a 0-0 draw with South Florida. Three different goalkeepers have gotten a start in all three of FGCU's matches, with Gustavo Vasconcelos and William Blake stopping everything that has come their way.

Saturday's match will be free to attend. It will not be streamed on ESPN+ or any other platforms. Men's soccer isn't the only sport on campus that day as UCF volleyball plays Georgia at 3 p.m. and UCF football squares off against Bethune-Cookman at 6:30 p.m.
