ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - News and notes from the UCF football team for Saturday, Aug. 27. The Knights will have the day off from practice and classes to rest up in preparation for game week.

News
-With exactly one week left before kickoff Sept. 3, celebrate by attending today's PATCH Party at Huey Magoo's located at 4293 Alafaya Trail near the UCF campus from 1-3 p.m.
-If you will be in downtown Orlando this afternoon instead, swing by Wall Street Plaza to watch the UCF Cornhole Challenge which begins at noon today.
-Still have energy for the evening? Students are invited to attend the CAB VIP Pool Party at 8 p.m. Held at the Leisure Pool by the Rec & Wellness Center, Knights are asked to wear all white to the event where there will be a live DJ, free food, celebrity guest appearances, prizes and giveaways.

#27 - Jonathan Davis
Linebacker - 5-9/199 - Junior
Lawrenceville, Ga./Tucker

-Recorded at least 64 rushing attempts in each of his first two seasons as a Knight, and was UCF's starting running back to begin 2010.
-Was the Georgia 4A Defensive Player of the Year out of Tucker High School, and returns to linebacker for the Black and Gold in 2011.
-Worked his way from being a member of the third-team defense at the start of preseason camp to spending the past week on the first team.
-Has 12 total tackles in his career, and even though he stands at 5-foot-9, he has routinely been in position to make plays during the preseason.

Stat of the Day
-UCF did not play Tulsa last season, but renews its rivalry with the West Division's Golden Hurricane in Orlando Nov. 3. In 2010, Tulsa scored at least 28 points in 12 of its 13 games, and posted 41 points or more seven times. It ended the year with a 56-50 win over Southern Miss and a 62-35 victory over Hawai'i in the Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl.

What to Look For
-UCF will not be on the practice fields Sunday, however the student-athletes will be in the Wayne Densch Sports Center focusing on the gameplan against Charleston Southern.

UCF football season ticket packages can be purchased online at UCFAthletics.com or by calling the UCF Athletics Ticket Office at (407) 823-1000. Should UCF host the C-USA Championship Game for the fourth time in seven years, it would be played on Saturday, Dec. 3, and season ticket holders will receive the first shot at the best seats.
